About the founder
In May 2009, Doru Mihaescu founded Infomedtrix with the purpose of helping Chattanooga medical community improve patient care through the use of electronic health records (EHR) and health information exchange.
Doru has worked in the academic and healthcare sector. His professional background in healthcare spans clinical care and technology. He has worked in clinical settings having served as an RN to patients in various parts of the world: Romania, Israel and South Africa.
He got involved in health information exchange at the national, state and regional level as:
- A member of ONC's NHIN Team - charged with producing tests for what is now known as the NwHIN Exchange
- The chair of HIP-TN (Health Information Partnership for Tennessee) Technical Workgroup - tasked with establishing a state-wide health information exchange in Tennessee
- The chair of the Southeast Regional Exchange's Technical Workgroup - charged with establishing an HIE in Chattanooga area.
About us
Since 2009 we have been helping several medical and dental practices in Tennessee and Georgia.
In addition to getting involved at the Health Information Technology policy level, we have participated in several Direct Connect-a-thons trying to test our Direct Project solution against other Direct HISPs.
In 2012 we launched our first NwHIN Direct HISP product called BeDirect .
In 2015 we launched Risk.Clinic, a new product designed to help practices achieve compliance - HIPAA, Meaningful Use, PQRS.
